Who we are

UKHUB (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the website at ukhub.co.uk. We provide free AI-powered tools for UK homeowners. We are registered in England and Wales. For data enquiries: privacy@ukhub.co.uk

What data we collect and why

Tool usage (no account required)

When you use our tools, we log the following for service improvement and analytics:

  • Postcode district only (e.g. “RG19”, never your full postcode) — used for regional benchmarking
  • Tool type and response time — for performance monitoring
  • Session identifier — an anonymous cookie set by PostHog for aggregate analytics. No name or email is attached.

We do not use advertising trackers. We do not sell your data.

Lead submissions (tradesperson quotes)

If you submit the “Get 3 free quotes” form, we collect your name, email address (optional), and postcode district. This data is shared with up to 3 vetted local tradespeople in your area and stored securely in our database. Basis: your explicit consent (checkbox on submission).

Grant referral submissions

If you request a free installer survey via our Grant Checker, we collect your name, email, phone (optional), and full postcode. This is shared with an Ofgem-registered installer to arrange your survey. Basis: your explicit consent. Full postcodes are never used for any purpose other than installer matching.

Affiliate link clicks

When you click a retailer link (B&Q, Wickes, Toolstation), we log the retailer name, material category, and your anonymous session ID. No personal data is attached. The retailer may set their own cookies on their site.

How long we keep your data

  • Lead submissions: 12 months, then deleted
  • Grant referral data: 24 months (required for grant application audit trails)
  • Analytics logs (tool queries, affiliate clicks): 24 months, then deleted

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to: access your data, correct inaccurate data, request deletion, restrict processing, and object to processing. To exercise any right, email privacy@ukhub.co.uk with your name and the email address used when submitting. We will respond within 30 days.

Cookies

We use one analytics cookie (PostHog) which collects anonymous session data. No advertising or tracking cookies are used. You can opt out of PostHog analytics by enabling “Do Not Track” in your browser.

Third-party services

  • Anthropic (Claude API) — processes your tool queries to generate responses. Anthropic’s privacy policy applies to API usage.
  • Supabase — EU-hosted database for storing lead submissions and analytics.
  • PostHog — anonymous analytics. EU data residency option enabled.
  • Resend — used to send lead confirmation emails where an email address is provided.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Material changes will be noted by updating the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance.
